raya sakan di kb

my last trip to kota bharu was when we went for cuti sekolah with ayah. as i normally don't sleep during a long ride, my 8 hours ride brought back the memories i had back then with our mitsubishi gallant. ayah and mak memang kaki jalan, so we stayed at the hotel close to pasar malam, where we would walk across the road to enjoy the local kelantanese delicacies.

+sparks of joy from the smugled (?) bunga api ala klcc and mercun bom (?)+

i'm blessed to have a good chemistery with my group in kelantan. everyone is a real shopper with big appetite for exotic food. though, i vowed to myself not to get carried away for the planned batik shopping spree, i couldn't lie to myself. the night before, i tried to sleep early as the chief de mission a.k.a mummy zan reminded everyone to rise early for nasi roket breakfast and tawaf pasar for batik.

+songket samping worth RM20,000 popular amongst the royal elites, kain tudung bawal+

the moment i panjat tangga batu of bazar siti khadijah, i melt immediately to see kain tenun songket bunga tabur in rich dark green at the displayed mannequin. flashes of 'dokor-tiga-beradik-perak' that i had been eyeing for at semua house ran through my mind. in split minutes, i bought it for rm 350, in grey with gold pucuk rebung motif to complement dust mite's grey baju melayu. that marked the beginning of my shopping spree that day, that ripped me off close to rm800++. we spent half day each for two days, browsing and shopping from shop to shop. in group, we spent close to rm 4000 only for those few hours, which i guess, enough to contribute to the gdp growth for negeri kelantan. other than my 4-metre songket, i also bought batik silk for man's shirt, matching batik chiffon blouse with silk pareo, white raga bag, kaftan for mak, cotton blouses, tali pinggang besi for my silk sarong, kain batik to match my copper lace top and other few pieces of less expensive fabrics.

+rombongan che zan with their mission accomplished, far beyond target+

on top of this shopping madness, the the climax has yet to come until we went out that night for 'soup gearbox with roti canai' supper. since i am the only herbivor like neer, i opted for roti canai telur instead. others, went 'drunk' slurping their way to the last drop of their steamy soup, with spoon and straw of course.

even on my way back home to kl, i managed to gather new set of to-buy-list items for my next trip to kota bharu. neither not sure whether i'm in real need of those nor i am just a big spender, somehow deep inside it does reflect how i enjoyed the trip and can never get enough out of it. furthermore, who could resist of few new presents given by the families as part of local culture in welcoming new member to the family.. should i elaborate more?
