offshore..offshore

what will be the best adjective to describe an entourage of HR ladies scramming your cute lil offshore platform for an educational day trip? can't find any word specific. woke up at 4.40 am at my resort-modern room eastwood village golf resort, miri. took the bus to pulau melayu wharf where we saw dozens of our regular offshore operators waited to board the ship to respective platforms. duh.. it's not even dawn and we are all clad in yellow armageddon coverall suit, of course we caught the world attention and not to mention our brand new heavy weight safety boots (proud to wear them!). with giggle and laughter plus tonnes of camera flashes for the watch-out-men pose, it's sure a hell of experience. and this is just the prelude - we have yet to board the boat.

the boat ride was about 1 hour, thought of catching up some beauty sleep. however, the movie vantage point caught my attention. fine, missed the ending by the time we arrived, but the moment we were in the boat ..wow.. the sea view was breathtaking. i landed my foot at tukau platform with whole pride & joy. how i am blessed with mother nature, the earth is laughing from the waves, natural resources is abundance for us to exploit. praise to lord for the natural resources. the sun is scorching high, the sea view is clear blue, the wind is strong. oo.. lupa nak cakap, transfering from our boat to the mouth of the platform deck was a cute one, we have to make a jump stunt ala tarzan to reach the deck. climbing the platform stairs is another fear factor, your can't help but to look down when taking the stairs so of course rasa gayat to start datang. little fishes surrounding the platform legs makes you wonder how wonderful to see them waving hello at you.

we were indeed treated like a VIP and i must say, life is too good that you end up gaining 2 kilos for the lavish food you enjoyed at the end of the trip. what else you can do to kill the time other than locked yourself in the confined match-box bedroom. though you can have astro and dvd, still makan kat canteen aje la jawabnya. people is friendly (was informed most of them has already in 1 week stay, with testerone level reaciigh ceiling high, another week to-go, understood!!) but they are very nice people indeed.

i hope this will not be my last offshore visit. i want to expect more visits in future to remind me of 'who's earth is this?' ; praise to god, the most gracious and merciful

+ anxious (and noisy) team breaking dawn. tukau platform view from the boat. 45-minute ride was breathtaking+

+greeting (or shouting?) tukau upon arrival. transfer from boat to platform deck+

+ i think i'm up for the fear factor challenge (qualifying round je kot!). picture of my sandals, slipped off from my right food while climbing stairs to helipad for group photo. it's big-foot size doesn't help either but made other girls to squirm in fear with 'what if it's not the sandal but...' chill out, girls. the boys played futsal at the helipad (mind you, no guarding fence)+

+the educational trip is just like your petrosains tour except it is very hot, noisy and sweaty.
seen crude oil from the mother reservoir, it's carrot juice-blended-with-soil in color+

+ fraternity dinner with the rest of the team with majority not complying to the borneo theme. post to pocho pocho, managed to showcase another talent of me- dancing the graceful ngajat steps in tenun terengganu attire
(so not in theme!). nevermind, had impressed the audience with my off-tune endless
love song, they were so impressed until today+
